Three car thieves arrested soon after stealing vehicle

THREE car thieves were arrested soon after they stole a grey Toyota Camry sedan in Waigani, Port Moresby, on Monday.
National Capital District/Central police said in a statement that the three were caught after a manhunt was launched following the reported theft at 2.30pm.
Police said five men were involved in stealing the car.
Police had zoomed in on the grass and marshland between Gerehu Stage 5 and Morata.
A suspect armed with a bush knife was caught near the Morata sewerage pond after a short chase on foot.
Another two suspects were caught by people in the area.
The two suspects were then handed over to police at Gerehu Stage 5.
In another case on Sunday, staff and patients in a private medical clinic in Gordon were held at gunpoint and robbed.
Police said two men aiding a third in crutches posed as customers before five more men joined them in the robbery.
In another incident, police arrested a man with a stolen taxi in Morata in Port Moresby on Wednesday night.
Police also seized a homemade gun from the suspect.
Police said the taxi was reported stolen on Wednesday between 10am and 11am near the Morata sewerage pond, along the back road connecting Gerehu and 9-mile.
Police said two men posing as customers got on the taxi from Waigani and went to the Morata location to pick up another accomplice.
The three men then used a homemade gun and robbed the driver of K1,900 before driving away the taxi.
