Three robberies occurred in same location: Cop

THREE robberies in Madang took place in the same location along the Lae-Madang Highway on Saturday, police say.
Madang police commander acting Supt Mazuc Rubiang said the robberies were at Naru Mountains but police were informed late so they responded late.
He said he was sorry for what had happened and promised police would work hard to find the suspects.
“Five criminals were shot dead last year at this time (nearing Christmas) and it might happen again, so I am warning the criminals to be careful and stop what they are doing,” he said.
Acting Supt Rubiang is not happy with what is happening in the province and wants the leaders and business houses to help fund logistics for police so they can respond quickly.
He said police lacked logistics and manpower and it was the time of the year when criminals were more active with all the petty crimes, break-ins and burglaries.
