RETIRED National Rugby League superstar Jonathan Thurston, the new brand ambassador for Fone Haus, is expected to visit PNG once international travel restrictions are lifted.
The North Queensland Cowboys legend said during a zoom interview at Fone Haus shop in Central Waigani, Port Moresby, yesterday that he was passionate about the company’s community initiatives.
The announcement was witnessed by Fone Haus general manager Damian Ames, Namba Wan Trophy Ltd Group managing director Jim Gui and staff with NCD Governor Powes Parkop.
“Fone Haus has the biggest range of mobile phones in PNG, and every phone is 100 per cent genuine,” Thurston said. “It has five new shops in Port Moresby and Lae, five more planned this year (Port Moresby’s Vision City and Range View, Kokopo, Mt Hagen and Madang).
“I really can’t wait to see them in person.”
The four-time Dally M Medal winner said during previous visits to PNG, he met “heaps of great people and have amazing experiences”.
“I have made memories that will last for lifetime,” he said.
“The Fone Haus team have been very busy in the last six months donating medical equipment and basic items to the Port Moresby General Hospital, Angau Memorial Hospital in Lae and over K10,000 worth of water and bed to the Rita Flynn Isolation Facility.”
