UNIVERSITY Tigers beat Port Power 45-16 in Sunday’s Port Moresby Australian Football League (POMAFL) A-grade match at the Colts Oval.
The round 10 fixture saw Power only manage two goals and four behinds while the Tigers banked seven majors and three behinds for a 29 point win.
University maintains sixth place following the win while Power have dropped down to fifth on the 10-team standings.
Forwards Collins Rafun and Vincent Logo were outstanding for University as they kicked a goal each and created scoring opportunities for their teammates.
Powers centre Jeremiah Ben shone in the middle with a bagful of disposals however his forwards could not finish well enough to make the chances count.
Despite leading by two points in the opening quarter (14-12), Power switched off in the second frame not scoring a point while conceding 12.
Powers continued the poor attacking form into the third quarter kicking a behind to Uni’s two goals to trail 15-32.
University sealed the win with two more goals in the final frame.
Power coach John Solomon said his men did not compete well in centre field and this affected their entire game.
