Time to pay TVET teachers

Letters

SOME committed new technical and vocational education and training (TVET) teachers in Eastern Highlands have been overlooked by the Teaching Service Commission.
TVET is moving the country as it is the key to social and economic prosperity.
Its prosperity depends on the instructors who have been tasked to deliver.
These officers have accumulated vast knowledge and experience over the years.
They travelled a longer way than teachers in other education sectors (primary and secondary excluding higher tertiary levels).
Can the Teaching Service Commission and provincial salary officers do them a favour to put them on the payroll once they pass the quality checks?
Some need to be backdated as they are occupying gazetted funded positions.
These officers left their homes to serve others.
They have family to look after.
How can they afford basic necessities?
Without them, trainees cannot achieve their dreams in various trades and policies will not work.
