Time to regulate our real estate sector

I REFER to the high real estate rental prices.
We need a body to regulate the real estate sector.
Many middle income earners in Port Moresby are finding it hard to rent or buy a property.
This is because their salary is not sufficient to pay for a decent accommodation and basic needs.
Some employees who get housing allowances are also finding it hard to make ends meet.
For example, the lowest rental rate I could find was K350 per week, K700 a fortnight.
The majority of workers in POM are earning around that figure.
After paying rent, you have nothing left for food, school fees, water and power bills, savings, etc.
The unregulated real estate sector is putting pressure on employers and employees.
Something must be done about this issue.
