THREE Government organisations have received wireless phones as Christmas gifts from Telikom PNG.
The phones were presented to women in agriculture development unit of Agriculture and Livestock Department, the Papua New Guinea National Commission for Unesco and World Heritage secretariat in the Environment and  Conservation Department.
They were bought by an NGO, Heritage Restoration Project from Telikom for presentation.
Heritage Restoration Project facilitator Sera Peter said yesterday that the donation could be seen as a concrete working relationship to promote and implement flori-culture as an incentive for the people in rural areas, provide updated information on heritage matters acquired from the network of preservation and conservation of historical buildings.
“We believe in networking as it pulls together resources and networking partners,” Ms Peter said.
The Heritage Restoration Project patron, Clyde Willis, said that without communication, not much could be done, thus communication must be seen as more important than fuel in a tank.
Mr Willis said the wireless phones were cost-effective and useful for communication across a wide network and with simple ingredients.
Both the donor and the recipients of the wireless phones thanked Telikom PNG for the provision of needs and services to PNG and would want to continue working together with Telikom.
