VISION City, Port Moresby’s largest shopping mall, witnessed a “frenzy” by customers during their Christmas shopping  at the mall.
General manager Anderson Ting told The National that more than 20,000 customers shopped at the mall.
“The shopping pattern for last week was a frenzy,” Ting said.
“We recorded a footfall count of more than 20,000 customers flocking into the mall especially towards the eve of the festivities. Parking was filled up and congestion was bumper to bumper.
“The company increased security manpower and diverted some traffic.
“The senior mall management team was on the ground in the last two days to coordinate every angle in ensuring a memorable shopping for the shoppers.
“Based on traffic statistic, last year was not as great as this year. But in terms of spending power, most tenants (recorded) better profit last year.”
