Tired of Apec hype

THE lyrics of the Eagles’ song Hotel California says in part: “You can check out anytime but you can never leave . . .” is the greatest fear of any Third World country in the magnate of globalisation, multilateral and regional groups like Apec.
We have failed to ask: What have we to lose if we do not join Apec or any other world grouping?
Every rose has its thorns, so to speak.
Why the big Apec hype in almost every daily news in PNG?
I am fedup of the rubbish.
