Togoba joins PNGRFL

THE TOGOBA Mile off-season rugby league is the second Western Highlands league to affiliate with the Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League this year.
The new league comprises eight teams from Hagen Central and Tambul and Nebilyer districts.
League president Noel Pek said they had reduced the number of teams in their competition to eight even though they had 14 teams who had expressed interest in order to maintain a good standard.
Six clubs — Kula Mates, Ke Raiders, United Warriors, Wizco Panthers, Wurr Kanj West, and JP Eels — have confirmed their participation.
Two more clubs are expected to confirm their participation next week.
Peka said the league’s affiliation with PNGRFL was made possible by their main sponsor Giru Limited, which had given K50,000 to the league.
