Too little too late, Sir Michael

THE people of SHP would like to thank Sir Michael Somare for appointing Anderson Agiru as his deputy.
After all, SHP deserves this position as it is the purse of PNG for a long time.
While we welcome this move, unfortunately it has come too late.
Why promote Agiru to become the number two when we have our own Southern Highlander as CEO of PNG?
Peter O’Neill has the majority support in parliament and also all Southern Highlanders.
Agiru is the deputy leader of a shadow government, for want of a better word since the Somare faction does not want to admit it is in the opposition.
Besides, how do we benefit with him as deputy leader when we have not benefited in any way when he was the governor?
The people of SHP have already decided who will go back to form the next government during the election.
Agiru could have been in a dream position had the Somare faction elevated him when it was in power.
Why now?
It is too little and too late.
We urge Agiru to join O’Neill and not become a “briefcase carrier” for the Somares.
Their days are numbered.
