DOCKERS face their toughest challenge of the Port Moresby Australian Football League season so far when they face unbeaten Bismark Maritime West Eagles at the Colts Oval tomorrow.
Dockers are second on the ladder and will be looking to inflict the first loss on the Eagles.
They have been hard at training this week to polish up on their skills and fitness.
It should be a thriller for Papua New Guinea Mosquitoes youngsters Jason Logi, Thaddeus Wilket and Brandan Bola to face West Eagles’ Greg Ekari, Pascal Bailey, Kelly Kaugla, Rex Peregua, Daniby Kase and Kataha Siwee.
Logi, Wilket and Bola will receive support from experienced Emmaus Wartovo, Emmanuel Tupia, Archie Mai Jr, Desmond Kaumu, Stanis Isu, Sebastian Gelu, Chris Mong and Peter Lavong to offer strong resistance against Jeffery Vogae, Mackenzie Kamang, Jackson Nawi, Alois Mondo, Raymond Asaio and Kera Naffin Jr. West Eagles coach John Kalogha Timothy is aware that the challenge is going to be tough, but he is quietly confident that his men will get the job done.
The game is expected to go right down to the wire and the spectators should get their money’s worth.
In the earlier match tomorrow, Gerehu Magpies have a tough challenge against Cats who will be aiming to atone for their poor performance against Koboni last week.
In the midday clash tomorrow, Koboni will look to triumph over Gordon Kokofas to maintain third spot.
In Sunday’s matches, the improving Alavana Swans should give Gereka Bombers a good run for their money while University Tigers and Port Power should provide an entertaining match.
In the women’s matches, leaders Koboni will look to ease past Magpies, Dockers will meet West Eagles and Kokofas will battle Tigers at Colts oval.
