POLICE will continue to investigate until all the perpetrators of the recent sorcery accusation related violence (Sarv) in Southern Highlands and Enga are rounded up, Police Minister William Onglo says.
Onglo told people who marched to the police headquarters in Port Moresby on Friday to protest against those Sarv perpetrators that: “The Marape Government is behind it, (and) under the police, I am getting all the support I can get to get everybody in now.”
He said some people said there was a no report of the case but “I don’t need the case to be reported” because the video was there and we have seen the faces of all the men and everything they did”.
“They will all get into the system, they will not run away,” he said.
Describing the act as “evil” and “done by men who were worse than animals”, Onglo said he felt offended and leaders also felt useless that it happened under their management.
“It’s not right and we will fix it,” he said.
“If I have to go further and put a bounty on the head of the criminals, I will do it and we will hunt them.
“They will not live in the society among us (and) underneath our powers. We will try our best to get them into our justice system and they will face the law.”
Onglo said what happened in Southern Highlands, had gone viral and the video was just the tip of the iceberg.
Onglo said a collective effort from communities, men, women, government and non-governmental organisations was needed to put an end and now all the leaders, church groups and communities were supportive.
