Touch gets PI backing for national titles

THE Papua New Guinea Touch Football Federation announced a partnership with Pacific Industries Limited for the 2018 national championships in Port Moresby from April 6-9.
The championships are expected to attract sides from 12 provinces plus the Brisbane Maganis, who are all current affiliates to the national federation.
Pacific Industries under their Gold Spot brand are the major sponsor for the national event. The sponsorship package is valued at K12,000.
Everett Chue of Pacific Industries said: “We’re proud to support an event and sport that is focused on grooming grassroots.”
Pacific Industries is a family-run local manufacturing company that has been in the country for more thabn 70 years.
Touch PNG are currently in preparation for the upcoming World Cup in Malaysia and the Pacific Games in Samoa next year.
Touch PNG has 63 members in its train-on squad.
“The championships will provide the final platform from where we will be able to gauge the performance of the squad members and identify any new stars at the event.
