TOUCH Football Papua New Gui­nea has announced men’s and women’s train-on squads for the Asia Regional Championship to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from June 6-10.

The team will be trimmed to the final 12 women and 12 men after a training camp in Port Moresby in the first week of May.

The Asia Regional Championship is one of a series of high performance international events TFPNG has identified to take part in leading to the 2015 Pacific Games. 

Countries in the region that will be taking part include Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia.

The association said the aim of attending such a high level championship was not so much about winning but to expose players to high performance competitions.

Those selected in the open wo­men’s division are: Vavine Yore, pictured, Bes­sie Peter, Natalie Kuper, Maria Max, Joylene Ti­kot, Patiyoko Apiganase, June Makeso, Jessica Kamano, Maurin Bonje, Roselyn Timothy, Waylne Thomas, Mary Marlon, Janet Pariso, Paulin Braun, Emma Thomas, Margaret Luke, Siniva John, Wendy Ravu, Edna Bonot and Monica Teit. 

The coach is Augustine Aisi and the manager is Lorraine Cheong.

The men’s squad: Eugene Eka, Uari Saea, Robinson Kasisi, Morris Walter, Kele Lesi, Villa Teit, David Aruha, Philip Lale, Morgan Jaruga, Dally Illam, Dialon Luana, Eddie Dumano, Jay Kaha, Neville llam, Branso Matthew, Jerad Taso, Norman Vovona, Albert Siru, Norman Steven, Marlon Steven, Junior Lilibur, Wille Joe, Henry Joe. 

The coach is Martin Joffey and manager is Elmo Pasiro.

Two referees have been appointed by Touch Football PNG to officiate at the championship. 

They are Dokta Machenzy and  Gary Kaiuk.

All players and officials selected are required to immediately work on their passports as players without passports will be dropped from the team. 

The deadline for all to produce their passport is the second week of May. 

Those players from outside of Port Moresby needing help with getting a passport can contact Alice Kwarara at Boroko Motors, Port Moresby.

Association presidents from where the players are registered are asked to take ownership of their players in terms of helping them. 

Training for the players based in Port Moresby will start tomorrow at Jack Pidik Park.
