Town and city talks successful

 PNG Constitutional and Law Reform Commission chairman Benjamin Poponawa last week led a delegation to Malaysia to hold discussions with the various government agencies on town, city and country planning and development.

He said in a statement yesterday that he and his team had learnt a lot from the eight-day visit.

The commission has been asked to review the Cities Act 1971 and the Physical Planning Act and recommend legislative reforms for the proper planning and management of towns and cities in PNG to the government. 

The commission will conduct consultations to gauge the views of the people and government on how to grow and manage towns.
