LAST Thursday mine was one of the many vehicles travelling from Waigani to downtown using the Poreporena Freeway which almost had an accident because of a convoy of 10-seater cruisers driving madly as if they were chasing some criminals.
I found out later that these were unruly policemen following their boss Fred Yakasa to the Sea Park at Ela Beach where he was due to meet with his men after his court case earlier in the day.
The ordinary drivers between Waigani and downtown was also subjected to swear words and bad hand signs from these man if they did not give way to them.
Is this how these policemen want to follow the rule of law?
How can Yakasa protect the Constitution when the people he is supposed to protect are already in danger by the attitude of his rogue cops?
Over to you, Yakasa.
I also witnessed exchange of money between policemen at the courthouse car park.
Is not trying to bribe Tom Kulunga’s lawyer enough?
So much talk about the Constitution but people like Yakasa cannot be trusted to protect the Constitution.
The people and the Constitution deserves a person who is patient, has wisdom and fears God more than politicians, can say “no” to bribery and can command the respect of his subordinates because they have worked their way up the hierarchy.
