Transport operators receive training

PUBLIC transport operators in East New Britain (ENB) have received training on financial literacy in Kokopo recently.
Facilitated by the ENB Savings and Loans Society, marketing officer Baryl Toget said areas covered were on savings and budgeting.
Toget said it was important for local entrepreneurs such as PMV (public motor vehicle) owners to understand how to save their daily earnings and make budgets according to what they earn.
She said most business people fail to operate after few years as they cannot save nor budget.
Participant Marcella Talom said she gained a lot of helpful tips on financial management from the workshop.
“I am a local business woman operating a PMV but I can’t save and budget the earnings I get from my PMV runs but with the training now, I understand the simple rules on how I can save and budget,” Talom said.
