MEMBERS of the Waria tribe at Garaina in Bulolo and the siblings of the late Lady Hannah Dadae are mourning her death, saying they have lost a “breadwinner”.
Her younger sister Jonica Muingnepe Koni said she was giver, a loving cheerful person, who would be missed by all she had been helping and supporting.
“It’s a great loss to the Muingnepe family. She usually supported us her siblings greatly,” she said.
“She performed her duties as Lady Hannah Dadae for only a year. We are so broken-hearted. She did a lot in Kabwum when (Sir Bob) was the MP. She helped Biawaria villagers greatly.”
Her body was flown by helicopter yesterday from Nadzab Airport to her village, before returning to Lae.
Koni, a teacher like her elder sister, said Lady Hannah initiated many programmes in the remote village to help her people improve their living standards. “She also led the fundraising for the construction of a Lutheran church in the village. Materials for a new church building are now ready,” Koni said.
The ground-breaking ceremony for the new church building will be on Christmas day and everyone was expecting her to be there.
“Our families and people in the village are in mourning. It’s a great loss to us her siblings. Most of us depend on her for school fees and other family needs.”
