Tripadvisor recognises park as outstanding attraction

THE Port Moresby Nature Park has been recognised as Papua New Guinea’s outstanding attraction in the 2020 traveller’s choice award by Tripadvisor.
The award had placed the park in the 10 per cent tourism attraction around the world.
The award was based on a full year of assessment by Tripadvisor, an American online travel company, which rewards establishments for consistently receiving great traveller feedback.
Port Moresby Nature Park chief executive officer Michelle McGeorge said the park was humbled to be recognised as a global leader in addition to its efforts in the community and schools education, wildlife conservation and research. “We have also worked hard to promote PNG overseas and to do our part to ensure PNG is proudly represented on the tourism stage,” she said.
McGeorge noted that prior to the Covid-19 pandemic and tourism travel restrictions, one in eight international visitors to PNG were visiting the park making it the most visited attraction for international visitors in the country.
“Winners of the 2020 travellers’ choice awards should be proud of this distinguished recognition,” Tripadvisor’s chief commercial officer Kanika Soni said.
“Although it’s been a challenging year for travel and hospitality, we want to celebrate our partners’ achievements.”
