Troubled province

Letters

SOUTHERN Highlands has a population of 515,511, according to official figures, and has the highest record of crimes over the decade.
One of the fundamental causes of crime is the unequal distribution of goods and services in the province.
Ineffective law and order controls, cronyism and political scandals are common and they contribute to negative attitudes, corruptions, murder, destruction of properties, tribal fighting, hijacking of the voting systems, etc.
The actual cause is the failure to ensure compliance, accountability and transparency by the provincial government and the MPs, encouraging corruption in the province.
I think that democracy is on the brink of collapse in SHP and the law-enforcement agencies should work independently to arrest and investigate these leaders because these political leaders and some of their cronies are the real cause of trouble in Southern Highlands.
The leaders are the ones who should be held accountable for what is happening in the province.
