Trucks in Lae

Letters

LAND use laws in Lae City continue to be broken at will by people with money.
An example is at Eagle St and Cassowary Road where heavy trucks coming from the river side drive out at high speed carrying heavy loads in what is supposed to be a quiet suburb.
The consequences of this everyday activities are:

  • Noise pollution six days a week;
  • Badly damaged inner suburb roads;
  • Main suburb drainage eroded away with the culvert to be crushed soon; and
  • The shaking of buildings and structure in this residential area.

Can the Morobe Provincial Government or our action National Lands Minister get the authorities to find an alternate route for these trucks?
