TRUKAI Industries Ltd on Tuesday donated 300 kilograms of rice to the Life Care PNG, a charity organisation which has been looking after disadvantaged children over the past 15 years.
Life Care PNG founder Collin Pake shared his struggle with Trukai Industries officials as they handed over the bags at his Gerehu stage one residence on Tuesday.
Pake said the rice would help him and his family run the centre which had 45 children with a further 400-plus who came in for meals and support.
He said with six students now in university and others in high and primary schools, he welcomed any help and support from partners.
“I aim to give each of the children under my care a family system that they can grow under (and) each support I get is much appreciated as it goes a long way to help care for these kids.”
Trukai Industries, since 2015, had helped organisations with bags of rice under its corporate social responsibility brand.
Trukai’s marketing manager Maryanne Tom said they were happy to support a worthwhile cause.
