Try solve problems, don’t complain

Letters

LIFE is full of problems. Some families are struggling financially, some children don’t have offers to continue to higher institutions and some even find it hard to put food on the table.
Whatever it is, never forget that it is not the problem that is the problem, it is how we react to the problem that is the problem.
Speaking to youths and students, I always remind them that we can always overcome our problems if we take 100 per cent responsibilities of our own life and future.
Two things that holds a lot of people back is blaming and complaining.
The more you blame others, the more you shift the responsibility to another person.
On the same token, if you continue to complain, then nothing much happens.
For instance, if you are a student that did not pass your Grade 8,10 and 12.
Will you just sit there and continue to blame the education system? It is not what happens to you but how you deal with it that really matters.
In other words, it is not where you came from but where you are going that really matters.
Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft Corporation once said, if you were born poor, it is not your mistake.
But if you die poor, it is your mistake.
The last school break, I led a team of Divine Word University students to do awareness in East New Britain.
One of the students told his story during the talk and let me share with you.
He was living with his grandparents and working on the cocoa plantation to pay his school fees.
When the cocoa pod borer destroyed the cocoa patch, he nearly gave up but did not.
He went on to work for other people.
Sometimes he become a bus crew.
He was both fighting to raise his low grades and seek income.
Other young people often make fun of him. Today, he is studying in Sydney after winning a scholarship while in Divine Word University.
Again, if we sit and wait blaming and complaining, nothing happens.
It is not the problem that is the problem, it is how we react to the problem that is the problem.
Nothing changes if nothing changes.

  • I Agree with you Glen, where there is a problem, there is always a solution, it is good to face a problem, to get the best answer to the problem, If the problem is not fixed, who will fix it, problems are there so we can find the best solution to the problem, I Love to see & face problem to fix them, there is satisfaction…….

  • Problems are waiting for someone to fix, we need to rise up to fix problems, just look at motor mechanic, a car breaks down, driver can not fix it, but a mechanic can, a car is waiting for mechanic, in the same way all mans problems are there for someone to fix. don’t imagine we can not, but we can ………
