TSC marred by corruption

Letters

THE Teaching Service Commission has totally lost its track of maintaining the fabric of its establishment.
It was intended to serve teachers wellbeing in recruitment, appointment, salaries, retirement and other tasks.
It has now become the biggest employment agency of the Government, employing over 60,000 teachers and increasing annually.
While the commission is slowly expanding its functions to the provinces to meet the demands of the growing teacher population, it has greatly indulged in corrupt practices.
The sectors within the commission infected with corruption are the salary and the teachers’ appointment sections.
Genuine appeals from disgruntled teachers go unheeded.
Governors are dictating provincial education boards through teacher appointments as a tool to serve their political interests.
The Teaching Service Commission chairman and his commissioners should rectify these to bring some trust and confidence back to the commission.

Prosperous 2022
