Tuition fees fees paid for Central teachers

 THE Central provincial government has paid K56,000 as tuition fees for 14 of its primary school teachers undergoing training at the PNG Education Institute.

They are undergoing a Bachelor in Education course as part of the governor’s tertiary scholarship assistant scheme.

Jacob Aga Nigona, superintendent of professional teaching with the Central division of education, handed the cheque on behalf of the governor. Each of the 14 teachers receives K4000.

President of the Central students at PNGEI Jafu Oavai on behalf of the 14 teachers thanked the provincial government for its commitment in paying their tuition fees.

He promised that they would excel in their studies and implement what they learnt when they return to their respective schools.

PNGEI director Dr Zue Neofa, said the cheque presentation was an indication that the Central provincial administration was committed to ensuring that its teachers attained the best training to lift the standards of schools in the province.
