TWENTY women at Port Moresby’s Vadavada community have registered to participate in life-skills training offered by the WeCARe Foundation PNG women empowerment programme.
Women and youths from the Vadavada community were the first recipients of this programme.
Registration was completed on March 11.
WeCARe Foundation PNG acting manager Sandra Ibene said they were committed to reaching communities through the programmes they run.
“Over the last two years, we have assisted many women in Port Moresby with these life-skills training. We are here to do that again,” Ibene said.
She encouraged women to have positive attitude towards the training and learn all that they could.
Participant Pauline Tony, 47, said she would use her acquired skills sew more blouses to earn money for her family.
“I left school in Grade Six and I am really excited to be part of this training,” she said.
The training would run for a month covering skills on sewing, tie dye and soap-making. The next training would be in mid-April.
