TWO bank employees in Port Moresby have been arrested and charged for breaching quarantine orders, says NCD Met Supt Perou N’dranou.
N’dranou said the male employee had gone to Brisbane on duty travel and had returned earlier this month and was placed in quarantine at a designated hotel as a person of interest.
“His co-worker, a 28-year-old female after partying with her friends, went to the hotel and visited the person of interest,” he said.
“The women was caught as she was leaving the hotel room and both have since been charged for breaching Emergency Orders under section six of the emergency general provisions.
“They are both now in quarantine,” he said.
Meanwhile, a suspect involved in the shooting at the Westpac Bank earlier this month has been arrested.
N’dranou said that the suspect was picked up yesterday and was now detained at the Boroko police station.

    • Hypocrites, why didn’t you pick up the 4 Chinese and lock them up for 14 days? Who’s interests are the police serving and protecting?

  • Just complete lack of INTERGRITY and STANDARDS in our own Leaders and Laws! WHAT A SHAME!!!!

  • two different emergency provision act for this SOE. one for PNGeans , whre they can be detain and charged while others for corrupt politicians and business tycoons who can just walk freely like astray dogs. Common PNG. Strict Means strict.

  • Government and the Justice system has clearly set two of rules in PNG..
One for the privileged and the other for the underprivileged..
