TWO men are dead after two clans refused to pay a compensation demand for K15,000 and 30 pigs each in Enga, say provincial police commander acting Supt Ephenes Nili. He told The National that compensation payments were to be given to another clan. Police reported that a man from another village was killed and his body found between the Timale and Sikirwan villages, just outside Wabag town. “Because the body was found between the two villages, the village court said that the payments of K15,000 and 30 pigs would be paid to the clan of the deceased,” he said.
“But Timale and Sikirwan villages refused and a fight broke out.  “Two men not related to either clans were killed.
“Police and soldiers intervened to stop the fighting.” The soldiers and police officers are monitoring the situation.
“Both villages have agreed to ensure those responsible for the two murders are brought to justice,” he said.
