TWO A-grade matches ended scoreless for only the second and third time in the Moresby South Rugby League on Saturday.
Competition leaders Kaugere Bulldogs and 6-Mile Crows failed to score a points in their round-14 clash, as did Taurama Wolfpack and Joyce Bay Roosters.
Competition manager Albert Muri said the Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League had advised that no competition points would be awarded for scoreless matches.
The four teams were determined to win their respective matches to push for top-eight spots which remain up for grabs for nine sides.
Muri said a 2019 match between Gabutu and Vadavada United had ended scoreless, dashing the Dragons’ hopes of reaching the top-eight finals.
“No competition points will be awarded to either of the four teams,” he said.
“Our competition rules also do not allow extra time due to time factor and the number of A-grade, women’s and Under-20 teams.
“It’s a pity that it ended this way and the four teams go home empty-handed.”
The minor premiership battle is between Bulldogs and Wolfpack with just one round remaining.
