Two new Covid-19 deaths

TWO new Covid-19 deaths were recorded in Papua New Guinea on Thursday, raising the country’s death toll to 164.
The deaths were reported in the National Capital District and Eastern Highlands. On Friday, the country recorded 69 new case, raising the country’s total infections to 16,327. According to a media statement from the Controller, the new cases were recorded in eight provinces with Mnus reporting the highest with 19 cases, followed by Milne Bay (18), New Ireland (1), Madang (eight), Morobe (four), East New Britain and the National Capital District (two each) and West Sepik (one).
Of the new cases, 44 were men and 36 women, aged between two and 85. To date, 117,373 people have been tested for the Covid-19 with 15,641 cases recovered and 255 tests are pending laboratory results.
