Two towers for Gulf

TWO towers will be built to facilitate a communication programme in Gulf, says Governor Chris Haiveta.
He posted on his Facebook page that a 30-meter tower would be built at the Kikori station to cover Kikori town and urban local level government area housing the district headquarters.
The second one is a 60-meter tower in Kerema town to cover the hinterlands and eastern part of the province.
Haiveta said business in Kikori was expanding and an effective communication facility would boost economic activities.
The towers are solar–powered to provide electricity supply.
Closed-circuit television cameras will be installed to monitor the equipment. The towers were provincial government’s property.
Digicel will also put up two towers at Haivaro and Faia to provide communication for the furthest north-western end of the province,
Haiveta called on the people of Gulf to appreciate what the Government is doing to help them and to look after the equipment and Government properties.
