Sports

The NCD Volleyball Association will have its last games of round two of the 2017 season ttomorrow at Taurama Aquatic and Indoor centre.
The first six in the men’s premier division are Eda Tech Scorpions (30 points), Lavukoloa (30), Jamas (26) Ela Motors (26), Vailima (25) and U-Mi Yet (22).
The top four are secured but an upset by U-Mi Yet over Scorpions will see the MJ Electrical-sponsored side squeeze into the top five pushing Vailima out as they will be on the bye.
In women’s premier division, the top six are Telikom (34), U-Mi Yet (28), Eda Tech Scorpions (27), Jamas (24), Vailima (23) and Ela Motors (21). Again the top four placings are safe.
Ela Motors would have to beat Telikom to unseat Vailima, who will be scoreless on the bye, and move into the top five for the final series.
Men’s A grade ranking: Jamas (34), Ela Motors (29), Lavukoloa (26), Eda Tech Scorpions (24, U-Mi Yet (20) and Vailima (17).
The results from this weekend’s matches may not make any differences on the men’s A grade points ladder but would keep the teams in good match fitness heading into the finals next week.
Women’s A grade standings: U-Mi Yet (29), Telikom (27), Jamas (26), Lavukoloa (23), Eda Tech Scorpions (20) and Vailima (20).
Again all results from this weekend’s games would not change the current standings.
All Eda Tech Scorpions teams take on U-Mi Yet, Ela Motors have their backs against the wall when they face Telikom, Jamas face Lavukoloa and all Vailima teams have the bye.
