MEMBERS of Team Central for the PNG Games have been given till today as the deadline to pay their levy fees or risk being left out  of the squad which goes into camp next Wednesday.
Team chairman Charles Inapi said this yesterday while giving a brief on the preparations for the Games next month.
He said  team Central was looking at 479 athletes including team officials in 17 sports.
But the squad will be further culled depending on the preparedness of athletes during the camp next week in Mirigeda, Central province, before heading to the Games on Nov 16.
“I’m confident the team can win medals and I’ve encouraged them to prepare well for next month,” Inapi said.
“We’ll be competing in swimming, powerlifting, weightlifting, rugby league nines  and rugby union sevens plus disability sports events,”  Inapi said.
He added that player accreditation forms had already been submitted and  the team was looking forward to the games.
The total cost of Team Central’s participation at the Games is around K500,000 including the cost of the three-week camp in Mirigeda.
