University grind out close win over Nova in Capital Rugby finals

UNIVERSITY Piggies ground out a10-5 win over a plucky Nova in their Capital Rugby Union Under-19 playoff match last Saturday at Bava Park, Port Moresby.
Uni’s composure in the second half saw them hold on to their five-point lead and repel a determined Nova side over 80 competitive minutes of rugby.
“The University U19s are made up of young boys between the ages of 16-18,” CRU official Paul Joseph said.
“They have been playing together well to get this result.
“The boys have started their run a little late in the competition but have picked up along the way to eventually make the finals.”
“Congratulations to the coach Hezron Titi for his great effort in molding and shaping the boys.
“The team now have to stay focused, stick to game plans and face another competitive team in the Valley Hunters next.”
The Hunters are made up of students from Port Moresby International School and they have one of the better sides all season.
In the B grade clash, Wanderers beat Valley Hunters 8-5 to make it into the grand final.
