The Port Moresby Suburban Rugby League was the proud recipient of a cheque for K5000 from Telikom PNG yesterday.
Telikom has maintained a level of commitment to the local community and rugby league being the most popular sport it was only natural that the company support local competitions.
Presenting the cheque to the Port Moresby Suburban Rugby League treasurer thomas Mote, Telikom PNG national retail manager Amos Tepi, the state-owned entity was happy to give back to the local community and continue to build the business.
Telikom PNG marketing manager Silas Matoli concurred adding that their company’s commitment to local level sporting activities and competitions has come a long way in helping youths stay involved with their communities through sports.
Supports such as these are guaranteed to build, strengthen and market the Telikom brand.
League treasurer Thomas Mote said the sponsorship would go a long way as this would not only move the competition forward for the season but also further strengthen the bond between the local communities and its sponsors like Telikom.
“With this timely support from Telikom PNG, the youths taking part in the competition can look forward to finishing off their season of the Pom Suburban rugby league competition come the season’s end,” Mote said.
The Suburban league is the second biggest competition in Port Moresby behind the Port Moresby Rugby League.
