EDATEC Scorpions secured second spots in the premier men’s and women’s divisions at the Taurama Aquatic and Indoor Stadium on Saturday.
They beat PTPSL Telikom 3-1 in the men’s division and MJ Electrical U-Mi Yet 3-2 in the women’s.
Scorpions will defend their title against Jamas in the men’s division.
The women’s division will see a replay of last year’s grand final with Telikom.
Jamas edged Ela Motors 3-2 and Telikom eliminated Jamas 3-2 to face MJ Electrical U-Mi Yet in the women’s division.
In the men’s division, Scorpions continued their form from the club championships to put on a clinical display throughout the four sets.
Good ball control enabled setter Alpha Pala to dictate their offence, allowing Sam Toua, Damien Aisi and Koi Onne Jr to be on their game.
Telikom hit back in the third set with some solid spikes from Jeffery Charlie and Kwamala Karo, but poor passing put their setter under a lot of pressure.
This gave the Scorpions many free balls to counter-attack in transition play.
In the women’s division, it was a close result.
National women’s team captain Lois Garena, Emily Bae, Luana Travertz, Sopo Alsop and Patricia Hani from U-Mi Yet fired on all cylinders to win the first and third sets.
However, U-Mi Yet lost focus and allowed Scorpions back into the encounter.
