University starts classes with revised schedules

CONTACT classes at the University of PNG started on Monday with adjusted class schedules and more focus on blended learning, Vice-Chancellor Prof Frank Griffin says.
He told The National that the university spent the last two weeks creating blended learning methods, readjusting class schedules and other activities to ensure health requirements by the Government were followed.
Griffin assured parents and sponsors of students that the university was doing its best to ensure the 2020 academic year was completed without affecting the quality of education.
“The quality of education is still there, we are just finding the best method of (delivering) it,” he said.
Porf Griffin said students were also changing their way of learning to becoming self-learners rather than depending on lecturers for information.
“This new way of doing things will take time for all of us to adjust but we will get there eventually,” he said.
“We are also preparing to do live streaming for big classes.”
