FINAL-year Univesity of Papua New Guinea arts and design students are holding a mini arts exhibition this week at the Faculty of Arts Textile  and Fashion building in Port Moresby.

The theme of the week-long exhibition is: Unity in art.

President of the students Mackenzie Mistera said that it was all about looking back at our traditional lifestyle and compare it to today’s lifestyle through art.

“People today must not look at the present only. This is because we have our past that has brought us to today and it is important to know what happened in the past as well,”

He said: “PNG culture is what we are going to maintain through all our art activities to maintain our Melanesian style and way of living.

“Many students are happy about the course they had studied and pass on a big thank you to their arts lecturers.

The week long mini exhibition is open to the public.
