THE Baaz Nokondi Off Season League judiciary and executives yesterday awarded the abandoned 2012/13 grand final to Garden Hills Upisa.
The decision was well taken by it and Kiki Rocks as fair and in the true spirit of sportsmanship.
In consultation with the referee the decision was made that neither of the games officials had awarded a Kiki Rockets penalty goal as the ball was still in mid air when spectators from both sides invaded the field and forced the game to be abandoned.
There was no violence and it was peaceful as the all-Lufa affair ended after 6pm in fading light.
This is the sixth year of the competition enjoyed by Eastern Highlands youths.
The executives and judiciary confirmed that two  minutes eight seconds were remaining on the clock before the field invasion, Upisa was leading 1- 0 from a field goal in the first half.
Association president Benny Kene confirmed that the presentation of cash prizes and awards would be at 1pm on Friday, April 29, at the Port Moresby Rugby Football League.
The association received K20,000 last Sunday from the Vice Minister for Sports and Moresby North-East MP Labi Amaiu.
The competition is sponsored by Amaiu’s son Baaz for the third successive season.
