Vagana guest for awards

RETIRED New Zealand all-time leading rugby league try scorer Nigel Vagana will be guest speaker at the 2013 SP Sports Awards on May 25.

Vagana has represented New Zealand and Samoa in rugby league in a glittering career.

He was a Tri Nations winner with New Zealand, played in three World Cups before captaining Samoa in the 2008 World Cup.

Vagana played 260 first grade games with the Auckland Warriors, Warrington Wolves, Canterbury Bulldogs, Cronulla Sharks and South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Vagana not only lives a football legacy but has a passion and determination to educate and develop young footballers.

The SP Sports Awards organising committee announced him as guest speaker yesterday and thanked major sponsor SP Brewery Ltd, Air Niugini, FM 100, EMTV, Crown Plaza, City Pharmacy Group of Companies, Graphiti Signs Ltd and Theodist.
