Valuer told to submit report

A PROFESSIONAL valuer did not know who owned the old Parliament building site (Sect 8, Lot 11, Macgregor St, Port Moresby, when he valued the land, an inquiry has revealed.
The Public Accounts Committee continued its inquiry into the sale of the old Parliament building site yesterday and found that the professional valuer, Kaluwin Potuan, did not know who owned the land but went ahead and valued the land at the request of OPH (Old Parliament House) Ltd.
Potuan was summoned before the committee to explain why he did not consult the National Museum and Art Gallery who were the custodian when he wanted to do a land valuation.
He was asked to present the committee with a full land report.
The inquiry was adjourned to March 18.
