Village closes off beach

ACCESS to the Wagang village beach in ward 7 and 8 of the Ahi local level government, Lae, will be closed to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19).
Village chairman John Jacob said the influx of people on the beach presented the danger of Covid-19 infections multiplying at this time.
The decision to close the beachfront came after the community had a meeting on Sunday.
“The villagers were concerned about the beach as in the last four weeks so many people were using it,” Jacob said.
