RAINY Lae came from behind to record their first win of the Women’s National Soccer League season with a 3-2 victory against hosts Pacific Gardens at the National Sports Institute in Goroka, Eastern Highlands, on Saturday.
Gardens got off to a great start when striker Anga Manopi gave them a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute. But Rainy Lae re-grouped and set up striker Shauom Amos to score the equalizer before halftime.
After the break, Gardens wasted no time in re-gaining the lead through Manopi. But the visitors capitalised on a lapse in concentration by Gardens to score two late goals through Mickelyn Hengdigao and Nerrie Nerik to record their first points of the season.
