VUNABOSCO Agro-Technical Secondary School in East New Britain has for the first time offered national certificates to trainees graduating this year.
Rector Fr Casper Charles said the school’s mission is to serve God by providing second chances to those who are being marginalised, abandoned, disadvantaged or are at risk.
“Our aim is also to produce graduates equipped with the right knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed and contribute to the society. Seeing the boys graduating each year brings satisfaction to us,” Fr Charles said.
The four main technical trade programmes offered by Vunabosco Agro Tech include building construction and carpentry, machine fitting and maintenance, motor vehicle mechanics and electrical technology.
Last week, 156 students graduated – 62 secondary pupils and 94 trainees.
The institution is a boys’ school formed and operated by the congregations of Catholic brothers and priests of Salesians of Don Bosco and managed by the Catholic Education Agency.
