WABAG town has received a major face-lift after phase II of the town road sealing project was completed on Monday.
Work was carried out by locally-owned company, Kay Star Construction Ltd.
Local MP Sam Abal funded the project year from his district services improvement programme funds.
Project manager Peter Pia said from Wabag yesterday the successful completion of the project boosted the image of the provincial capital.
Pia said public utilities like street lights, guard rails, and road signs would be put up and he urged people to take ownership and look after them.
He said in the past these public utilities were put up from the Ipatas Centre to the police station but some people removed the items.
He appealed to the people to respect such utilities.
Pia said it cost the province money to put up these things up and decorate the town.
He said it would take some time for the government to put up these services again if people removed them.
Pia said the sealing complemented other developments taking place in the town.
Such projects include the new market and chicken factory.
He said the people of Enga were fortunate to have their town road sealed.
