Waiting on rural electrification project

Letters

WHEN will the district rural electrification programme in Kokopo be completed?
Surveys were done and completed in 2010 for some wards including Kuraip, Rakunai, Vunalaka and other wards in the district but they said to wait for more funding and it’s been a decade.
The people are happy and want it to continue to improve their living standards.
It was looked at and never talked about for years and our people need to be reminded about this project.
The Government needs to tell them what is the next plan or what they are doing regarding the project.
As part of the self-reliance initiative and other good projects that are currently taking place in the district and province, there are other essential basic services submissions for district and local level government still have to be looked at.
Projects such as road upgrading and sealing for travelling convenience of the transport system, employees in government and private sectors, students, market vendors and the public, rural electrification to improve living style, water supply system to improve health and hygiene that should be given priority in the near future.
