Walk to help typhoon survivors

 A GLOBAL fundraising activity that Papua New Guinea was a part of was held on Saturday to help typhoon victims in the Philippines.

Led by the Church of Christ (Iglesia Ni Christo), Filipinos and nationals took part to “walk for Philippines typhoon victims” in the city. Head deacon, Renato Perauta said: “Money generated in the walk will be donated to victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.”

In a statement, executive minister, Eduardo Manalo said: “You are gathered here today for a walk for a cause which aims to further intensify our assistance to those severely affected by typhoon Hyan.

“The funds to be collected in this event will be used to cover the expenses of the projects that will help our brethren and the survivors to rise from their present condition.
