TWO council wards in the Umi Atzera local level government in Markham, Morobe, will be launching their five-year development plans soon.

Councillors Paul Wali and Rex Rugum of wards 10 and 30 said in a joint media statement that the formulation of their plan was being done with funding from their people.

Wali said the project would cost K10,000, with Exodus Project Management donating K5,000 and assisting them to put together the plan.

“We realised that it is important that we have strategies at the lower government level and work our way up.”

He said providing employment, projects and infrastructure for people at village level would empower the majority of people who lived there.
