Water cuts in Pari

Letters

Water rationing in Pari village, with one or two days on and one week off is ongoing and there seems to be no end in sight.
This issue was dealt with by the Motu-Koitabu Council Assembly hopefuls who promised the voters before the election that if they were elected, they would fix the problem for good.
But I do not think the water reticulation and piping, as the election candidates seemed to think, are the cause of the water disruptions.
I believe we are paying the price of bad attitude by people who do not cooperate with the Pari Hanua Ranu Komiti, when its officials go from house to house to collect weekly water levies to pay Eda Ranu.
Some people do not cooperate and refuse to pay, saying Pari village’s monthly water bill is being settled in full each month by MP
Justin Tkatchenko’s office.
I do not believe that.
I may be wrong and they may be right that Tkatchenko’s office has taken on the responsibility of paying Pari village water bills.
In light of this confusion, perhaps Tkatchenko’s office and Eda Ranu can tell us who is responsible for paying the water bill.
